Verb of the week: sattua

 week 7, 2021

sattua = to hurt (intransitive) 

Mihin sattuu? = Where does it hurt? 

Jalkoihini sattuu. = My legs hurt.

Tikka läpi sormen sattuu. = A dart through the finger hurts. 

Sattuuko testi? - Does the test hurt?

Kehenkään ei sattunut. = Nobody was hurt. 

Minuun sattui. = I was hurt. 

This verb can also mean "to happen" or "to occur": 

Kenellekään ei sattunut mitään. = Nothing happened to anyone. 

Sattuuko sinulle juhlia tälle viikonlopulle? = Do you have a celebrate this weekend?

Ikävä kuulla, että sinulle on sattunut vahinko. = Sad to hear, that you have had an accident.
